SPECTRUM ROLE FEATURES
When candidates accept the Morphin Grid’s Gold energy into their Ranger form, they take on the responsibility of becoming the protective hub of their team. The Gold Rangers often crave the spotlight, attract attention to themselves, and weather any storm their provocative attitude might attract. Subtlety is not the way of the Gold Ranger, but they also need to be careful not to let the attention go to (or take off) their head!

- Power Morpher
- Laser Blaster and Versatile Power Weapon*
- May trade the two Power Weapon options above for a Golden Power Staff*
It's Morphin' Time!
Starting at 1st level, by summoning the energy within you through your Power Morpher and saying the words “It’s Morphin Time!” as a Standard action, you are enveloped with a stylized shell of Morphin Grid energy that serves as your armor, grants you access to your Power-based weapons, and many other abilities that require Power to activate. While Morphed, the following traits and features apply:
- Your Toughness Bonus is determined by your Armor Training: Light (+1), Medium (+2), Heavy (+4), Ultra-Heavy (+6).
- All of your Jump distance maximums are tripled.
- As a Free action, you can summon any single Power-based weapon to your hands.
- When reduced to 0 Health, you may choose to avoid Defeat by automatically returning to your natural form, unconscious, and at 1 Health.
Hardened Armor
A Gold Ranger’s armored shell, even at 1st level, is more durable than that of any other Power Ranger. Starting at 1st level, your Toughness Defense increases while Morphed. The bonus found in Table 2-11: Gold Ranger rises as you gain more experience in this Role.
Additionally, after suffering a damage type other than Blunt or Sharp, you gain Resistance to that damage type (attacks that deal that damage type have a Snag, and you reduce damage by half when the effect is unavoidable) for the remainder of the scene. Resistance from Hardened Armor applies to each damage type.
Zords
At 1st level, you have access to a powerful construct of a particular kind based upon the Power Ranger team you are a part of. These are the various Zords, Borgs, and Power vehicles that the Rangers summon to aid them in battle. Rules and statistics surrounding Zords can be found in the section starting on page 131. When piloting this personal Zord, you cannot suffer Snags when using the Driving skill.
Gold Ranger Zords
What shape a Gold Ranger’s Zord takes depends on their Power Ranger Team. Examples of previously chosen Zords are:
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Quantusaurus, Gold Drago
- Power Rangers Zeo: Pyramidas
- Samurai Rangers: Claw Zord
Zord Feature
Upon reaching 3rd level, then again at 6th, 10th, 14th, and 17th levels, a Ranger’s connection and proficiency with their Zord has strengthened and evolved to a place where their abilities while using it are stronger and more powerful than ever. Each time this Role Perk is acquired by a White Ranger, they may choose from the list of Zord Features (see page 136 for details) to apply to their personal Zord.
Golden Guardian
Upon reaching 2nd level, protecting your fellow teammates is instinctive. If an attack hits an adjacent ally, you can spend 1 Personal Power to intercept the attack and take the hit yourself. Golden Guardian cannot change whether the attack hits, misses, inflicts damage, is a Critical Success, or the like; you take all the effects caused by the attack.
GENERAL PERK
When you reach 4th Level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th Level, you can personalize your Ranger by adding a General Perk for which you meet the prerequisites.
Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. The number of attacks increases to three when you reach 13th level. This Role Perk only functions while Morphed and fighting as an individual.
GRID POWER
First upon reaching 6th Level, then again at 11th and 16th Levels, you expand your understanding and connection to the Morphin Grid. Each time you acquire this Role Perk, choose a Grid Power for which you meet the requirements to add to your Ranger.
Stand Behind Me!
At 7th level, you stand as a shining beacon of your team’s battle against evil. At the beginning of any round when Morphed, you can spend 1 Personal Power to force all enemies within 60 feet of you to target you in their attacks unless they succeed at a DIF 14 Alertness Skill Test.
Counterstrike
Beginning at 9th level, the Gold Ranger has mastered the art of making their enemies pay for attacking the Ranger’s teammates. While Morphed, if you call upon the Golden Guardian Role Perk, you may immediately make a single attack against the foe who attacked your teammate.
Resilience
Upon reaching 11th level, your ability to stand firm against the enemies of your team makes you far more resistant to damage when you willfully defend against it. While Morphed, when targeted by an attack you are aware of, you may spend 1 Personal Power and roll your Athletics Skill die. Add the Skill die result to all your Defenses until the start of your next turn.
Multi-Counter
As of 13th level, you become a golden sentinel for adjacent allies. When you activate your Golden Guardian Role Perk, you can intercept any number of attacks targeting adjacent allies, such as from a villain who can make multiple attacks or attack multiple targets in a round. You may Counterstrike for each strike you intercept.
Splinter Defense
At 18th level, your Golden Ranger shell is so dense and durable that any creature that successfully hits you with a melee Attack automatically suffers an Initiative penalty equal to your hardened armor Role Perk bonus. This Role Perk can only affect each target once per combat scene.
GOLD RANGER PRIME
At 20th level, you have become the most advanced version possible of your team’s Gold Ranger. Your Morphed form gains the following benefits:
- You gain +2 to all Defenses
- An additional point of damage on Megaform Zord Attacks your Zord is part of
- Edge on Strength Skill Tests
